Cheltenham Race

The Champion Hurdle kicks off this year’s Cheltenham festival, which also happens to be the main race for day one, with the Arkle Trophy, and Supreme Novices Hurdle following closely. All up there are seven races throughout the day.

The Queen Mother Champion Chase is the big race of the day on Wednesday, with Sprinter Sacre easily sliding into top favorite. The Neptune Novices Hurdle is another exciting race to look forward to with this race testing the mettle of future contenders for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle. Thursday has the two main races back to back; the Ryanair Chase and the Ladbrokes World Hurdle. The World Hurdle is a popular race for punters as history shows there is always a good chance the favorite will come in, with clear cut form clearly separating the wheat from the chaff and seemingly make it hard to back a loser.

There are a total of 27 races over the four days during the Cheltenham Festival with the major money flowing into the top Cheltenham races; the World and Champion Hurdle, the Queen Mother Champion Chase, and the Gold Cup. No doubt the first race of the festival also attracts its share of the bets as punters from all over take their first plunge into the betting pool. Keeping track of all those odds can be a challenge, but the odds comparison chart makes it easy.

Race Cards and Forms

The form guides are also a massive help for punters wanting to increase their chances at the Cheltenham Festival, with the guides making placing a bet on any of the 28 races over the course of the Festival a snap. The forms are so comprehensive that they are often used to place Prestbury Park bets, with the same applying to race cards which are available on the morning of every festival day. These cards are a top class aid for punters to easily find a runner’s last price.

Punters are also able to obtain up to the minute information by visiting the festival’s official website which features ante post race cards carrying the latest information. The cards are updated regularly in the weeks approaching the festival, with the major emphasis obviously going towards the biggest races; the Champion Chase and Hurdle, and the World Hurdle and Gold Cup Race Card.
